Meet Our Team

Matthew Kendall FCA - Managing Director

Matthew is a Chartered Accountant and has worked in accountancy for 19 years.  He thoroughly enjoys his job and is very proud of his profession.  He has experience in working with various sized businesses and with individuals from a wide range of industries.

Matt started the firm ten years ago and is passionate about providing a high-quality, personal service to every client.  He works in all areas of the business.  As well as being very experienced in the more traditional aspects of accountancy, Matt also focuses on using the latest technology, in particular cloud-based services, enabling client's accounts to be more secure, more accessible and, in many cases, more cost-effective.

In his spare time Matt enjoys watching rugby league, hill walking and camping, and spending time with his wife Caroline. 

David Kendall FCCA

David is our Office Manager and is an FCCA qualified Accountant, he has worked in accountancy for 15 years.

Dave has gained experience working with a wide variety of clients and has acquired many skills throughout his career. He now specialises in year-end accounts and corporation tax.

In his role as Office Manager he supports the ongoing training and development of our staff and coordinates the day to day workflow in the office ensuring that deadlines are met.

David enjoys playing football in a local 5-a-side league and enjoys watching sport, particularly Hull City where he is a season passholder. 

Joanne Hall

Jo has worked in accountancy for many years and so has extensive experience in providing services to small and medium sized businesses. She is an Assistant Accountant and is our Sage and Management Accounting Specialist. Jo mainly works on the preparation of management accounts, VAT and personal tax returns. She also provides payroll and bookkeeping services.

Jo also has a role in the training and development of our team, and enjoys sharing her experience with our junior staff members. Jo is a Certified Advisor for Quickbooks.

Thomas Hood MAAT

Tom is an Assistant Accountant and is our VAT and Cloud Accounting Specialist. He is fully-qualified with the AAT and is currently studying for the ACCA qualification.

Tom has many years of experience in bookkeeping, VAT and management accounts. He manages a large amount of our bookkeeping, management accounting and VAT work. He is a Certified Advisor for Xero, Quickbooks, FreeAgent and Sage Business Cloud.

Samantha Harrod MAAT, Part-ACCA

Sam is an MAAT Accountant and is part-ACCA qualified. She has worked in accountancy for the majority of her career, predominantly in practice and also some time in industry.

Sam manages our personal tax work. Sam also undertakes accounts preparation, year-end accounting and supervises the work of junior staff. 

Lucy Wheeler

Lucy joined us from college and she is a Trainee Accountant. She works in all areas of the firm alongside studying for the AAT Level 4 qualification.

Billy Mountain 

Billy joined our team as an Accountancy Apprentice in 2021 and is a Trainee Accountant training for the AAT. He predominantly works in VAT and management accounting though worls within all areas of the firm. 

Ehsan Zubair 

Ehsan is an Apprentice and is currently undertaking AAT Level 3 after completing A Levels at College.  He works in all areas of our firm but is currently focusing on accounts preparation.

Jim Doyle FCMA

Jim works with us to provide Non-Executive solutions.

As well as this Jim provides valuable advice to assist with acquisitions, university spin-outs and turnaround situations.
